Master Woodwind & Brass: Personalised Lessons at London School of Art

The London School of Art is an award-winning performing arts school that contracts professional, experienced tutors to work within the school. All instrument lessons are one-on-one and take place either at the school's premises or online. Lessons are available seven days a week, after school and on weekends.

Woodwind & Brass Lessons

The Woodwind & Brass Department at the London School of Art offers the most comprehensive woodwind education.

We provide one-on-one lessons in clarinet, flute, and saxophone, allowing students to choose any of these as their principal instrument. Our professional tutors specialise in each discipline, delivering coursework specifically designed to enhance students' musical abilities.

  • Flute: Recommended for ages 7+, depending on the child's interest and ability to focus.
  • Saxophone: Suitable for ages 8+ due to its size and complexity.
  • Clarinet: An excellent starting point for younger students who may later transition to the saxophone.

Grade Exams

Grade exams require a high level of commitment through regular practice, along with strong parental involvement. Parents play a crucial role in monitoring and encouraging their child’s practice at home. A minimum of 20 minutes, four times a week is required, with increased practice time as students progress to higher grades.

We believe that examinations, when approached correctly, can be a motivating and positive experience. While exams are important for skill assessment and can contribute to school points, they should not be the sole focus of a musician’s education. We do not "fast track" students through exams at the expense of developing a strong musical foundation.
